Dismissal & After Care

Here’s what you need to know about safely dropping off and picking up your student at school.
After School Care
After school care is provided by Kidventure- a third party vendor that manages the onsite, after school program at Durham and several other elementary schools in the area. Durham hosts Kidventure on campus from 3:00 to 6:00 everyday during the school year. Students enrolled in Kidventure will be walked to KidVenture at dismissal time.

Pickup ID Tags – Required for Car Riders & Walkers
Before school starts, you’ll select your child’s dismissal method (Car Rider, Walker, Bus, or Kidventure), and you’ll receive a printed ID tag with your child’s name and pickup method.
-
These tags are required every day for pickup for car riders and walkers.
-
When selecting your dismissal method, choose the method you will use more frequently. If you choose walker, and need your student to be a car rider on a specific day, you will need to contact the school prior to dismissal.
-
If you don’t have your tag, you’ll need to go to the front office and show your ID.
-
Take a picture of your tag as a backup!
These tags help keep all students safe and streamline the dismissal process.
