VP Campus Engagement – Angelic Vargas (Board Member) 

Builds school spirit and connects families to school activities.

  • Cultural & Community Events – Nicole Felice: Supports campus-wide cultural events such as Hispanic Heritage Night, Black History Month program, Lunar New Year Performance, and other cultural programs.
     

  • Enrichment & STEAM Night – Sarah Maller: Coordinates the Garden Program, and supports school enrichments. PTA lead for STEAM Night, a night of educational programs and hands-on activities.
     

  • Community Outreach – Victoria Rodriguez: Connects Durham with the broader community for needs such as coat drive, and other initiatives.
     

  • School Supplies – Leslie Mitchell: Organizes bulk school supply orders for families.
     

VP Community Engagement – Ashley Haeuser (Board Member) 

Encourages family participation and supports creative initiatives.

  • Arts – Cate Thompson: Supports arts programming such as PTA Reflections and Durham’s Got Talent.
     

  • MENTORS – Alex Maller: Coordinates the Durham Mean’s volunteer group.
     

  • Spring Fling – Sarah Maller: Leads planning of the annual spring community event.
     

  • Book Fair – Marie Farrar: Organizes campus book fairs.
     

  • Spirit Wear – Janie Higgins: Manages Durham apparel sales.
     

  • Campus Beautification – Laith Stuart: Enhances school grounds with volunteer projects.
     

VP Communications – Davi Garza (Board Member) 

Ensures families stay informed, connected, and heard.

  • PTA Newsletter– Tamara Juden: Manages the weekly PTA newsletter.
     

  • Website – Quin Vargas: Maintains PTA website with current info and resources.
     

  • Event Communication – Allison Wooten: Support committee chairs in communication of PTA events.
     

  • ParentSquare – Alex Maller: Supports parents using the school’s main communication tool.
     

  • Advocacy – TBD: Informs and mobilizes families around key educational issues and Texas PTA aligned advocacy.
     

  • Yearbook – Melanie Shannon: Designs and publishes the school yearbook.
     

 

VP Volunteers – Fatima Gilbert (Board Member) 

Recruits, organizes, and supports our amazing volunteers.

  • Staff Hospitality – Merci Heincken: Coordinates yearlong hospitality events, including Teacher Appreciation Week.
     

  • PTA Hospitality – Natalie Carmouche: Welcomes families and supports PTA-hosted events.
     

  • Room Parents – Erin Simpson: Organizes classroom parent volunteers and parties.
     

  • Membership – Maggie Kauser: Manages PTA sign-ups and member engagement.
     

 

VP Fundraising – Courtney Brown (Board Member) 

Leads fundraising efforts to power PTA programs and initiatives.

  • Gala – Lauren Niemeyer: Oversees planning for the annual fundraising gala.
     

  • Silent Auction – Jill Tucker: Manages the online and in-person auction.
     

  • Sponsorships – Casey Newman: Builds community partnerships and donor support.
     

  • Spotty Surveys – Kirbie Drucker: Leads the annual no cost fundraiser.
     

  • Spirit Nights – Sarah Suarez: Coordinates dine-out and give-back events.
     

  • Student Fundraiser – Kyle Grimes: Leads schoolwide Spotty Obstacles fundraiser.
     

 

💡 Special Committees & Finance
  • Thank You Chair – Jennifer Garza: Organizes volunteer and teacher appreciation efforts throughout the year.

  • Grants Chair – Ross Heidecker: Researches and applies for grants to bring in additional funding for programs and resources.

  • Budget & Finance – Madison Ziegenbein: Supports financial planning, budgeting, and audits to keep the PTA sustainable and transparent.
