Teacher Support & Hospitality at Durham Elementary

 

At Durham Elementary, we believe in taking care of the people who take care of our students. Our PTA partners closely with school staff to ensure teachers feel appreciated, supported, and part of a connected, caring community.

Here’s a snapshot of how we support our incredible educators throughout the year:

 

Warm Welcomes & Year-Round Appreciation

• Welcome Back Breakfasts & Luncheons to kick off the school year with encouragement and connection
   

• Bi-Monthly lunches to give teachers a break and time to connect.
   

• Teacher Appreciation Week filled with themed events, meals, and personalized goodies
   

• Birthday shout-outs or small celebrations to recognize staff milestones
   

Classroom & Instructional Support

• Annual Grants or reimbursements for classroom supplies and materials

• School Supplies coordination at the beginning of the year to ensure every classroom is stocked with essentials.

• Volunteer assistance for projects, bulletin boards, and special events

• Stock the Lounge drives to keep the teacher workroom filled with snacks and supplies

• PTA-funded IB Training to support our school’s commitment to high-quality, globally minded instruction

• PTA partnerships for projects and classroom enrichment (garden program, iFest, STEAM week, etc.)
