Enrollment

Durham Elementary School is an IB and Dual Language magnet school. All students participate in the IB curriculum. The school is 50/50 Dual Language, meaning half of the classes are IB only, and half are IB and Dual Language. When registering, you can select either the IB program or the Dual Language program (or both and prioritize your preference).

Am I zoned to Durham Elementary School?

I want my child to attend Prek 3 or Prek 4 at Durham Elementary. How do I enroll?

Prospective Prek students can apply at Early Childhood / Pre-K Home. As a reference, for the 2025-2026 school year Phase 1 opened on 1/22 and Phase 2 opened on 4/22.

I am zoned to Durham Elementary School. How do I enroll?

Zoned students can enroll through PowerSchool at Sign In - Houston Independent School District.

I am NOT zoned to Durham Elementary School. How do I enroll?

For new students applying for a magnet or school choice transfer, complete the online application at HoustonISD.org/SchoolChoice

What documents are required to enroll?

Please have the following available to enroll:

Parent Identification: Driver’s License, Passport, Military ID, etc.
Student Identification: Social Security Card (if available), Birth Certificate, Passport, Baptismal Records, etc.
Proof of Address: Current Rental Lease or Mortgage Statement, Utility Bill (not including internet).
Proof of Grade: Prior Academic Records, Final Report Card(s), Final Transcripts, etc.
Immunization Records: Doctor’s Records or other Official Record of Vaccinations.
